The current Greater Kansas Unit name change was approved by the International Board of Trustees at the 2011 WBCCI International Rally held in Du Quoin, Illinois. Previously the Unit was called the “Greater Wichita Unit” which had received their WBCCI charter in 1967 and held their first rally at Lake Cheney in May 1967. At that time there was one other unit in the state, the “Kansas Unit”. The Kansas Unit was disbanded leaving the Greater Wichita Kansas Unit as the only unit in Kansas. Charter members of the Greater Wichita Unit, Benny and Inola Stewart, remain active in the club.

All interested Airstreamers are invited to participate and join the Greater Kansas Unit. Our rallies range from camping on the high plains to the eastern borders of Kansas. We hold several unit rallies, participate in a Region Rally, the International Rally, and complete at least one caravan during the calendar year plus spring and fall luncheons. We hold an open invitation to any Airstreamers traveling through Kansas to join us at any of our functions. Please check the ‘Activities’ page for place and contact person.
